With exclusive lucky skills,
Pairs with expanded roles

Compare what exclusive lucky skills let a pair do. Provisional scores track changes in damage, utility and defenses rather than simply listing already strong pairs.

Created October 13, 2026 · Pair data October 8 · Exclusive-effect sources October 7

A provisional ranking based on source comparisons.

Ranks use a provisional editorial evaluation: 179 effects were mechanically classified and 21 individually reviewed. This is not a final ranking with equal-depth analysis of all 179. Battle damage, DPS and optimal teams are untested; scores may change.

A notable change: setting your own field

Giovanni and Mewtwo and Bea and Sirfetch'd tie for first in this editorial evaluation. Their ability to create Psychic Terrain or Fighting Zone supports same-type allies in addition to their own attacks.

Sygna Suit Erika and Leafeon's sun extension expands their existing sun setup. Even a strong damage modifier does not count as a new role if the pair remains the same damage dealer.

Results covering the top-ten cutoff

Ties share ranks. All pairs tied at the two-point tenth-slot cutoff are included, giving 16 pairs. Order within a tie does not indicate superiority.

Reading the scores

Attack, utility and defense total at most nine points. Score categories as a whole rather than counting effects. A field or countdown effect scores only in its main category even if it could fit attack and utility. Giovanni's field setup scores as utility; his separate power modifier scores as attack.

Bea&Sirfetch’d

Bea’s Nourished Spirit Exclusive Gym Battle Lucky Cookie 1

The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Powers up the user’s attacks when they become critical hits. Turns the field of play’s zone into a Fighting Zone the first time the user’s attack move is successful each battle. (A Fighting Zone powers up Fighting-type attacks.)

What changes after learning?

Alongside personal power increases, the first successful attack creates Fighting Zone. The damage dealer gains a field-setting role for Fighting teams.

Examples of existing abilities: Passive: “Critical Strike 3”.

Practical use and conditions

Fighting Zone requires the first successful attack. Its interaction with existing critical-hit boosts and field replacement is untested in battle.

Giovanni&Mewtwo

Giovanni’s Growing Ambitions Exclusive Gym Battle Lucky Cookie 1

The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Powers up the user’s attacks when they become critical hits. Turns the field of play’s terrain into Psychic Terrain when the user enters a battle.

What changes after learning?

Adds damage modifiers and Psychic Terrain on entry. With EX roles locked, it provides another field setter for Psychic teams.

Examples of existing abilities: Passive: “Power Reserves 2”、Grid: “Brainteaser”、Grid: “Critical Strike 3”.

Practical use and conditions

Unlocking EX Field changes the comparison. Check entry-field overwrites and the team's attack types.

Sygna Suit Erika&Leafeon

Erika’s Perfect Day for a Nap Exclusive Gym Battle Lucky Cookie 1

The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Powers up the user’s attacks when they become critical hits. Extends the duration of sunny weather when the weather turns sunny while the user is on the field.

What changes after learning?

Adds sun extension to existing sun setup. It improves existing support rather than granting a new weather.

Examples of existing abilities: Passive: “Charging Sun 5”、Grid: “Ramming Speed”、Grid: “Healthy Power-Up 1”、Grid: “Superduper Effective 1”.

Practical use and conditions

Personal damage gains score as attack, sun extension as utility. The same extension is not counted again for attack.

Sygna Suit Kris&Suicune

Pure Compassion Exclusive Gym Battle Lucky Cookie 1

The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Protects the user against critical hits. Raises the Sp. Def of all allied sync pairs by two stat ranks when the user enters a battle.

What changes after learning?

Vigilance expands an existing healer and mitigator's defense. Existing Sp. Def buffs make the new entry buff a reinforcement.

Examples of existing abilities: Passive: “Team Mind-Bracing Infliction 4”、Grid: “Spring of Knowledge!: Barricade Buddies 1”.

Practical use and conditions

Vigilance can come from normal cookies. Extra damage alone does not establish a Support pair as a new damage dealer.

Chase&Pikachu

Chase’s Speedy Sprint Exclusive Gym Battle Lucky Cookie 1

The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Protects the user against critical hits. Applies the Gradual Healing effect to the user if its HP is full when it enters a battle.

What changes after learning?

Adds Vigilance and full-HP gradual healing to an existing Support with hit-triggered healing and Defense/Sp. Def buffs, expanding defenses.

The same ability was not found in the recorded comparison data. This does not establish that no unrecorded ability exists.

Practical use and conditions

Gradual healing requires full HP on entry. Compare Vigilance with its normal-cookie alternative.

The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Protects the user against critical hits. Applies the Enduring effect to the user if its HP is full when it enters a battle.

What changes after learning?

Adds Vigilance and full-HP Enduring to a Support pair with healing on evasion, providing defenses beyond relying on dodges.

Examples of existing abilities: Grid: “Air Slash: Foul Fighting 5”.

Practical use and conditions

Enduring requires full HP on entry. The gain may be smaller compared with a normal-cookie Vigilance setup.

Increases the Physical Moves ↑ Next effect and Special Moves ↑ Next effect of all allied sync pairs by one rank the first time the user enters a battle each battle.

What changes after learning?

Extends existing physical and special boost support to entry. Vigilance is already a grid candidate and does not earn new defense-role points.

Examples of existing abilities: Grid: “Critical-hit immunity”、Move: “Idyllic Calm Mind”、Grid: “Team Strengthening Status 9”、Grid: “S-Move/Max Move: Team Phys & Spec Boost ↑1 9”.

Practical use and conditions

The same ability was not found in the recorded comparison data. This does not establish that no unrecorded ability exists.

Practical use and conditions

Comparisons against existing normal-cookie Vigilance are separate from this score. A damage modifier does not prove a new damage-dealer role.

Powers up the user’s moves that are super effective. The more the user’s sync buff is raised, the more it powers up its moves. (The maximum power-up is 50%.) Powers up the user’s attacks when they become critical hits.

What changes after learning?

Adds supereffective and sync-buff prerequisites to existing critical-hit power. A potential damage-role expansion, without a new utility or defense role.

Examples of existing abilities: Passive: “Critical Strike 9”、Grid: “Water Pulse: Confusion Synergy 3”、Grid: “Hydro Pump: Ramming Speed”、Grid: “Spacial Rend: Ramming Speed”.

Practical use and conditions

Scores are not damage simulations. Effective stacking with existing Critical Strike 9 is unverified.

What changes after learning?

Adds power modifiers and physical boosts after a max move. Existing boost sources make this a damage-role expansion.

Examples of existing abilities: Grid: “Chase Down 1”、Grid: “Furious Brawn”、Move: “You’ve Come This Far!”、Passive: “Sync Buff & Hit: Physical Boost ↑3 9”.

Practical use and conditions

Depends on using a max move and interaction with existing boosts. No new role in another category.

Reduces countdown by one on first entry and after the owner's first sync. Comparing existing reduction methods and timing supports an added or expanded countdown-support role.

Examples of existing abilities: Grid: “Sinnoh Solidarity: Initial Propulsion 1”.

Practical use and conditions

The two activations score only as utility, without duplicate attack points. Differences from normal countdown lucky skills and action counts were not simulated.

What changes after learning?

Allied physical and special boosts already exist in Superawakening. The exclusive effect adds entry timing; Vigilance overlaps a grid candidate.

Examples of existing abilities: Grid: “Critical-hit immunity”、Superawakening: “A Golden Future”.

Practical use and conditions

Without unlocked Superawakening the utility gain may be larger. Check grid and cookie requirements and normal-cookie alternatives.

Examples of existing abilities: Passive: “Galar Spirit”、Grid: “Wounded Power 3”、Grid: “Power Reserves 3”、Passive: “Spikemuth Grit”.

Adds regular-move, critical-hit and sync damage modifiers. Existing sync-grid buffs make this an expansion of the damage role.

Examples of existing abilities: Grid: “Play Rough: Superduper Effective 1”、Grid: “Critical Strike 2”、Grid: “Haymaker”.

Practical use and conditions

Check raised Attack, sync buffs and other prerequisites. This is not scored as a new utility role.

Effects outside the classification or with doubtful source wording were held for review instead of receiving speculative high scores. This is not a judgment that they are weak.
