Understanding stats and bulk indices

Written by: SciPocket · Published: October 8, 2026 · Feature and data reference: October 8, 2026

Sorting by stats is a starting point for comparing candidates numerically. Consider forms, prerequisites and support effects before choosing.

Compare with the same upgrades

Base stats use initial rarity, level 200, no power-ups, no grid tiles, no unlocked EX role and Superawakening level 0. Details include form multipliers. Your upgraded roster may not use the same conditions.

Sorting such as highest Attack uses the first form's stats. Matching another form does not change the sorting stat. Open details and switch forms for Mega Evolution, Terastallization and other variations.

What do bulk indices compare?

Physical bulk is HP × Defense; special bulk is HP × Sp. Def. These combine stats into a comparison value. The following fictional examples illustrate the formula.

ExampleHPDefensePhysical bulk index
A800250200,000
B1,000180180,000

B has higher HP, but A scores higher in this formula. Compare HP together with Defense rather than choosing by HP alone.

Do not judge battle strength by numbers alone

This index is not a received-damage calculation. It excludes stat ranks, damage reduction, critical hits, weaknesses, healing, Enduring and enemy-move conditions. A 10% higher index does not mean 10% less actual damage.

Attack and Sp. Atk sorting are not overall damage rankings including move power, attack counts, gauge costs or conditional boosts. Find candidates with high stats, then check their moves and whether the team meets the conditions.

Comparison steps

  1. Filter by roles and needed effects, then sort by the relevant stat.
  2. Open candidate details in separate tabs and compare the same forms.
  3. Also check gauge costs, uses, passive prerequisites and grid unlock conditions.
  4. Consider your actual upgrades and teammates' support.

The database does not automatically simulate stat differences from EX-role unlocks or selected grids. EX-role fields list recorded roles; this is not an upgrade simulator.
