Carmine vs. Archie: searching for each support’s best Grass team

By SciPocket · October 15, 2026 · Data: 2026-10-14

Archie (Fall 2026) & Wo-Chien can set EX Grassy Terrain on entry. So where does Carmine & Sinistcha fit alongside another Grass support?

We fixed Carmine and excluded Archie, then fixed Archie and excluded Carmine, searching the other two slots independently. This explores each support’s combinations rather than swapping a single slot in an otherwise fixed team.

These are firepower-index comparisons, not exhaustive optima or overall support rankings.
Archie’s best found team scored about 45.8% higher for physical Grass under normal rules, and about 2.4% higher for special Grass with physical damage disabled. Some effects are unmodeled; these are not measured battle-damage or win-rate differences.

What does “best” mean in this comparison?

Fixed and excluded pairsFix Carmine & Sinistcha and exclude Archie & Wo-Chien, or the reverse. Every form of the excluded sync pair is excluded.
Other two slotsAutomatically search one main damage dealer and one helper. No requirement for three matching sync-pair types.
InvestmentMove level 3 for all pairs, 6★ EX and EX roles enabled, no Superawakening, no sync grids selected.
Opponents and objectiveThree Grass-weak opponents. Non-Grass attacks count as zero. Compare the total firepower index across opponents.
Evaluation windowFixed support’s preparation sync → setup → one attack per pair → main damage dealer’s sync. Preparation-sync damage is excluded.
Sync buffsStart at 0. Evaluate attacks with 2 sync buffs after the support’s first EX sync.
Search scopeWide search, with 664 available pairs per condition and at most 64 shortlisted main attacks. Helper and action candidates are also narrowed in stages.

The physical/special filter applies to the main damage dealer’s moves, not helpers’ attacks. Our special comparison disables physical damage so physical attacks from helpers cannot inflate the result. It does not represent every special-focused team under normal rules.

Results: about 1.46× for physical Grass; a smaller modeled gap with physical damage disabled

These are the top candidates found for each condition. Carmine’s team is 100 within each condition. The other two slots differ, so the ratio does not isolate one support’s buff multiplier.

Physical Grass: EX terrain, physical boosts, and sync boosts in one slot

For physical Grass, Carmine’s top team used Florian and Sygna Suit Ball Guy; Archie’s used Florian and Brendan (Champion). Archie’s team scored about 45.8% higher.

Carmine’s team also creates EX Grassy Terrain after Sygna Suit Ball Guy attacks, and Florian attacks under EX terrain. The difference is not simply having EX terrain versus lacking it.

Archie provides EX terrain on entry as well as physical-move and sync-move boosts. The top found combination uses Brendan (Champion) in the remaining slot. Supplying EX terrain himself can free that slot for a different source of offensive support.

Brendan’s own Ground attack contributes zero because this comparison scores only Grass damage. He is selected as a helper for the Grass damage dealer.

With physical damage disabled, does Carmine always win?

Here Carmine’s team used Urbain and Sygna Suit Ball Guy; Archie’s used Sygna Suit Ball Guy and Drayton. Archie’s modeled advantage was about 2.4%, smaller than in the physical Grass comparison.

Carmine boosts special attacks as well as physical attacks, and her own special Grass damage contributes. Even when Archie’s physical attack scores zero, his EX terrain and sync boosts can support a special Grass damage dealer. These results do not establish that Carmine always wins for special damage.

Nor does a 2.4% modeled gap prove a close result in battle. Drayton has unmodeled effects, including special boosts when he sets his circle and Special Move Break from his first qualifying status move. Brendan also has an unmodeled passive in the physical comparison. The table compares the current model’s outputs.

Firepower alone does not determine overall support value

Carmine combines physical and special boosts with recurring team healing. Her team-wide healing after allied sync moves earns no points in this firepower index. Defensive buffs, self-healing, and Enduring also matter when deciding whether a team can keep attacking.

Archie also has Potion, defensive buffs, Attack reduction against all opponents, physical-damage reduction, and protection from critical hits. A strict “Carmine for survival, Archie for damage” split would overlook his defensive tools.

One practical distinction is whether you want recurring whole-team healing after sync moves, or Grass offense alongside suppression of physical attacks. This search does not measure battle outcomes or survival turns for either approach.

Carmine also has ways to reapply normal Grassy Terrain. These calculations evaluate attacks while field effects are active, so differences in applications and duration do not count as extra damage.

If Archie removes the need for a separate EX-terrain setter, that slot can potentially provide another kind of support. If you already use Sygna Suit Ball Guy, Carmine can be part of an EX-terrain team too. Consider whether you need more physical and sync support, or support for both damage categories plus whole-team healing.

  1. Select your roster and set common move levels, EX status, grids, starting sync buffs, and other conditions.
  2. Fix Carmine as the support and first sync user. Exclude Archie & Wo-Chien, and clear any fixed main damage dealer.
  3. Run a wide search and save the result. Then fix Archie as support and first sync user, exclude Carmine & Sinistcha, and search again.
  4. Compare setup requirements, field-setting order, and healing coverage as well as the total index.

Opening a saved calculation restricts the available roster to its three saved pairs. Select your roster again before searching for other teams.

Model limits and sources

Data snapshot: October 14, 2026. The search compared 64 of 80 physical Grass main attacks and all 58 special Grass main attacks. Final evaluations numbered 6,144 per physical case and 5,568 per special case. Helper and action candidates are still narrowed, so even the special cases are not exhaustive team/action searches.

This is not a battle simulation covering setup actions, sync countdown, gauge balance, field duration, enemy defenses, Defense or Grass Type Rebuff reduction, survival, healing, and every unknown intrinsic multiplier. Required forms and buddy-move conditions are assumed available. Grids, Superawakening, and unmodeled effects can change both gaps and rankings.
